About The Golf and Todd

Thank You for visiting my site and taking an interest in my dream and bucket list.  I would love to hear from you and hear about your dream whether golf related or not.  Connect with me via email below or on any of my social media sites. The important thing is that you have a dream.  No matter what your age, where you are at in life and on your journey keep your dreams alive.

So why this dream?  I love to play golf.  I have found in recent years that the golf course is one of the few places that I feel like I can disconnect and relax.  I have not been so obsessed with the score as the process of continuing to get better and adjust my game as I have gotten older.  At one point in the early 1990's I was playing almost every day and was consistently playing with a 4-5 handicap.  As jobs changed and kids grew my golf playing became less and less almost to the point of being non existent.  Fast forward to present day. I had forgotten how much I missed the game and how much I enjoy it.  I started to play more in the last two years as I have made more time and also joined a nine hole course in Spirit Lake close to our condo in Okoboji.  My game is improving and adjusting.  It is good to be back in the game.

Quick Facts About The Golf

What Qualifies As A Round?

  • At least nine individual holes need to be played to count as playing in that state OR

    • Playing in an 18 hole best ball or scramble event if invited to play as part of the golf journey.

What About Rounds Previously Played In Different States?

  • While that would help cross a few states off of the list I started counting rounds for this journey on June 17, 2021.  I thought it was only fair to start from that date.

What Do You A Scoring App?

  • Yes, I use Golf Pad and pay for the extra features.  It keeps track of all of my rounds of golf and also includes a range finder that is handy.

What's In Your Bag?

  • Pretty basic club set up.  I have had the same set of clubs for probably 20 years.  I don't even remember when I got them or where.  I have added a couple of drivers over recently.  I am sure it wouldn't hurt me to upgrade my clubs but...everything costs money.

  • Here the specifics:

    • Drivers

What Am I Working On?

  • Flexibility

    • I am starting to do some Yoga and Pilates to help with that.   â€‹

  • Fairway Wood Play

    • I used to be able to hit them really well but they have not been as consistent as they will need to be as I play some longer courses.  I need that 200 yard+ club on the 400 yard+ holes.
