It's a big word and a great deal of time and effort has to go into it. Many people say they want it but when they get it they end up not being able to handle it.
The most difficult thing about responsibility is not in getting it but fulfilling it and the most difficult part of fulfilling it faithfully is handling the mentality that comes with more responsibility.
Before you ask for more make sure you are ready to handle the daily mental grind of what the responsibilities you are asking for will require of you.
What will it (responsibility) require?
Patience
Consistency
Thoughtfulness
Grace
Commitment
Self Control
Persistence
...(you get the picture)
If you want the responsibility be ready for it but always remember your most important responsibility. People. All of them. (Not just the one's you like.) How you serve them all and lead them all is your greatest responsibility.
