We're back from a break. If you had a spring break I hope you were able to relax and rejuvenate. It has been a long stretch (year) since COVID really took hold of the education world and every facet of our society.
We all know it has been tough and stressful as a leader yet one of the biggest challenges we have is to truly get away. It is hard to do but my wife and I did it.
We enjoyed time in Arizona with friends for ten days. There were a few things I had to do but for the most part I stayed off of email and will unpack that today and get back to my "zero inbox".
We laughed (a lot), ate enough, hiked, laughed some more,
re connected with friends who moved to Arizona two years ago, soaked up the sun, finished a book, went to "Church at the Chip", watched the NCAA tournament, marveled at God's handiwork, and just had a great time.
Now it's time to get back at the day to day but feeling re-energized sure helps. I'll spend this week sharing a few leadership lessons I noticed while I was gone but the first would be that it is good and OK to get away. Self care is neglected way too often.
If you're having trouble with that let's talk about it. I'd love to try and help you be better at it so you can enjoy the blessings.
